Hey, I am replying to your Chicopee post!
Chicopee isn't the most challenging or anything. It doesn't have any drops or anything, but it has some northshore, some fast downhill switchbacks, and some up hill switchbacks. I mean they have XC races there during the summer, and it's pretty tight comp. There trails are pretty well looked after, and have some fun adrenaline sections. I have seen people with full suspension bikes at Chicopee, so you wouldn't be the odd one out there, but Chicopee is no Blue Mountain. Chicopee is fairly new to their Mountain Bike park, so I give them props on what they have done so far, but I really hope they add a little more challenging approaches. All in all, Chicopee is more XC then anything. It is both up hill, and downhill. So if you have any more questions, be free to ask!

well what i've found is for dh you have to set it up super soft so the bump sensativity is really good but then turn up the high speed compression almost to full so it doesnt bottom out when you put your front brake on. the fork is a nice fork but weird thing is i'm just about to buy a fox 40.

by "different" i mean just the feel of a single crown fork. Being that the bike is long travel it dosent really matter with 7 up front. that was my main concern but i havent noticed a difference. as far as coil vs air...i personally dont like air forks because of the constant work you have to do in order to maintain them. it also depends on where and how hard you ride. obviously a bike park will be murder on air forks. if you notice, most shops that rent bikes at bike parks use coil forks for that reason. i have never ridden a solo air totem but i would guess it would be very very smoooth and buttery.

I think i should get a Totem, is very funny riding with, i can do all stuf of things, and it make your bike more free. It gives you freedome on tricky berms and big drops. In my opinion it's the best single crown suspension ever made. If you want a double crown buy Rock Shox Team or the WC

Hey man, i use the totem to do downhill, and to me there's no diference. I used to ride with marzocchi 888, but a changed to totem cause it works better and it's lighter
, by the way nice bike!! PS: sorry my bad english

I found it to be a HUGE difference from the white brothers I had on there before the totem. Depending on the ride height you use your fork at you may or may not notice a huge difference. Measure your axle to crown (lower) and compare it to that of a totem.

hey man, yeah there really is no difference with the totem. it still sits the same angle (how upright it feels). i actually had a boxxer on before and did a whole lot of research about single crown forks and i finally put one on and i havent regreted it. i just like the freedom of the single crown fork better. it really just personal preference, like there is no performance gain at all (more rear travel) it just feels a bit different. so i recommend it..

Well, its gonna take a while to build as i have an orange patriot to pay for first. Basically i may go for boxxers or marzocchi, 40's are out of my price range. most likely marz, not keen on the skinny boxxers. X9 shifters and mech, mite do x7 for the sake of smashing dreaileaurs etc, cheaper replacement and i belive they do the same job. Cranks, saints or raceface, looking like raceface at the moment. Avid brakes, either 7's, codes or may wait for the elixer cr's to come out over here. Wheels, not sure. Hard to find a reasonable priced 150mm hub wheel over here. Any ideas?

Cheers again. Cutting the hose was a last option, had to do it on an orange before, avids are good for it cause they dont drip. Will keep you posted on how it goes. Cheers.

hey man, he confirmed 100% that its 1 1/8. im gonna probably get the bike tomorrow and ill take a picture, cause his arent that great. is there anyway you can go to a bike shop and i can talk to them and have them confirm that the fork is in working condition? i just gotta be cautious, i can do the same for you. i could go through CycleLoft in burlington Mass or Belmont Wheelworks in Belmont Mass, both trusted bike shops, big bike shops. www.cycleloft.com www.wheelworks.com thanks!

Cheers for that man, probably go for sts 36t. Just a quick one about mounting the brakes, did you manage to get the rear on without cutting the hose? Do you have to take the shock off?

i love it, were you getting the ATA or RC3. it took me a while to dial in the ATA since there are some many ways to set it up, but i love it i got it over the 40 since it has a 150 hr rebuild time over the fox's 25-40 hr. its really nice that you can adjust the travel too it make the geometry almost that of a slopestyle bike. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. i hope i helped.
thanks,
